Now that Hugh Grant's not quite as floppy-haired and innocent as he once was, Hollywood needs a Brit who has serious problems explaining his feelings to the fairer sex while also being terribly polite. Step forward David Mitchell, the thinking woman's slightly creepy stalker. How much would we pay to see Dave laying the moves on some shiny-faced A-lister who inexplicably finds herself at the door of his charmingly eccentric London pad? The price of a cinema ticket, that's how much. Especially if he had his cheeky sidekick Robert Webb on hand to dish out love tips and attempt to cop a feel of his new girlfriend as American audiences asked in bafflement what an El Dude brother is.
Al Murray – Die Hard: Not In My Pub, Sunshine
Bruce Willis might have cornered the market in bald men shouting back in the day, but the world's ready for another righteously indignant, follically challenged alpha male and we have just the candidate. Al Murray would be ideal in a crisis, not just because he's used to handling rowdy crowds and undoubtedly owns a number of vests, but because he's British. When there's a potentially world-altering situation underway all you really need is a stiff upper lip, a working knowledge of the Queensberry rules, a sense of fair play and an innate mistrust of the French and all will be well. Bet Demi Moore would have stuck around if she'd been with Al and his cellar of fruit-based beverages, too...
Noel Fielding – Terry Gilliam and the raven with a woman's face
Noel Fielding is utterly bonkers. A surreal master of psychedelic funnies, he seems ideally suited to become some sort of glittery muse to Terry Gilliam, the godfather of all things odd, and skip hand in hand with the madcap director into some unknowable future involving pirates, drawings, unusual haircuts, ponchos and possibly a big talking gorilla. He might look a bit like a transsexual crow, but that's never lessened his major pin-up potential – think Johnny Depp but with more crimping.
Frankie Boyle – a Moulin Rouge style, camp as Christmas musical
